The Singing Bowl Tuner is designed so that your data never has to leave your device. This page explains exactly what the app does with the microphone and what information it stores.

Microphone audio

The app uses your microphone for one purpose: analyzing the sound of your singing bowl in real time to detect its notes and frequencies.

• Audio is processed live, on your device, as it is captured.
• Audio is never recorded, never saved to a file, and never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
• The microphone is only active while an analysis or mic calibration is running, and access can be revoked at any time in your browser or device settings.

Information stored on your device

To make the app useful between visits, it keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, on your device only:

• Analysis results in your session history and any bowls you choose to save
• Your preferences (tuning standard, bowl type, dark mode)
• Your microphone calibration profile, if you run calibration

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data removes it completely. Saving a bowl can also download a file to your device at your request; that file stays wherever you put it.

What we don't do

• No accounts, sign-ups, or personal information collected
• No analytics, tracking, or advertising
• No cookies set by the app
• No selling or sharing of data — we never see your data in the first place

Third-party services

The app is delivered over the web. Loading it involves standard web requests to our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and to Google Fonts for the app's typeface. These requests are ordinary page-loading traffic (such as your IP address and browser type) and include no audio and no app data. Links to the Soundtopia shop open our website, soundtopia.com, which has its own privacy practices.
